Sustainability

As you read through all these posts from Shanghai to Dubai to Moscow... a theme starts to emerge. The definition of thriving has changed. Thriving is no longer about "having it all right now", rather, it's about sustainable growth.

Even when it comes to innovation, customers expect constancy. Sustainability is not about safety and cautiousness, it's much more than that. It is about continually moving forward. Essentially, sustainability is about living and thriving in a way that can be maintained for the future.

Don't get me wrong, no-one dreams of average returns, of course everyone wants extraordinary success. But the world has changed dramatically and there is an opportunity now for some good old fashioned values.

Godfrey in HK wants to 'go where there is no path', but he 'will only jump in the river when he knows he can swim.' This is the new sustainability; Growth, progress and innovation, paired with thoughtfulness and a firm grasp on reality.

Be the bank to redefine sustainability and offer customers a whole new way to thrive.
